The origin of China's National Day
The term "National Day" refers to the national celebration and was first seen in the Western Jin Dynasty. Lu Ji, a literary scholar of the Western Jin Dynasty, once wrote in the article "The Five Privileges", "The National Day is arrogant, the Lord is worried and harmless", the feudal era of China, the national celebration, and the emperor's ascension and birthday. (The Qing Dynasty called the emperor's birthday is a long live) and so on. Therefore, in ancient China, the emperor’s ascension and birthday were called “National Day”. Today, the anniversary of the establishment of the country is the National Day.
At the first meeting of the CPPCC in September 1949, it was decided to set October 1 as National Day. The announcement of the founding of the People's Republic of China on October 1, 1949 is one of the greatest changes in Chinese history. At 3 pm on October 1, 1949, 300,000 people in Beijing held a grand ceremony in Tiananmen Square to celebrate the establishment of the Central People's Government of the People's Republic of China. Chairman Mao Zedong solemnly declared that the People's Republic of China and the Central People's Government were established and personally raised the first five-star red flag. Chairman Mao read out the "Notice of the Central People's Government of the People's Republic of China": "The Central People's Government of the People's Republic of China is the sole legal government representing the people of the People's Republic of China. Any foreign government that wishes to abide by the principles of equality, mutual benefit and mutual respect for territorial sovereignty. The government is willing to establish diplomatic relations with it." The parade and mass parade were held immediately. Commander-in-Chief Zhu De reviewed the Hailu Air Force and announced the "Order of the People's Liberation Army Command", ordering the Chinese People's Liberation Army to quickly eliminate all remaining remnants of the Kuomintang and liberate all unliberated land.
